My Background in Health Coaching
I have always had an interest in health, wellbeing, and healthy lifestyles. At 18 when I started my degree in psychology and sports-science I planned on being a sports psychologist, but my growing interest in health psychology throughout my course, changed my plans. After completing my Masters and PhD in health psychology, I went into the world of academic health research, which I have been involved in for over 15 years. I have 19 academic peer-reviewed published articles and have secured over £300k of research grant money. My research work has mainly focused on Cardiovascular disease prevention, especially on high blood pressure and stroke prevention. Over the years as my interest in behaviour change grew, I was frustrated how often changes in behaviour were not sustainable in the long term.
